Cranberries can also be used to treat other infections for example the urinary tract infection and other forms of bladder infections. For best results it is recommended that an individual drinks 3-4 times of unsweetened cranberry juice a day. In case of unavailability of the juice you can take cranberry tablets 2-3 times a day.
Coconut oil
Coconut oil is yet another effective treatment for yeast infection. It can be used by both men and women. This oil contains anti-fungal properties that help in killing the fungi that causes the infection. Apply coconut oil on the affected area three times a day for better results. It can also stop further growth of the infection.
Yogurt
This is yet another yeast infection home treatment options that is very effective. The bacteria present in yogurt (lactobacillus acidophilus), helps in controlling the infection in the body. What should be emphasized is that for yeast infection treatment, unsweetened plain yogurt should be used. You can simply apply the yogurt on the affected area and let it dry for a bout an hour or so then clean the area. This will stop the itchy feeling that is associated with this infection. In case of vaginal yeast infection, dip a tampon in the yogurt and insert it inside the vagina for abut two hours. On top of that it is advisable to include yogurt in your diet.
Tea tree oil
This oil has the most effective and powerful anti-fungal properties that can also be used to treat yeast infection. You are advised to use organic tea tree oil for better results. Dilute the oil with water or olive oil and then rub the diluted oil over the affected area. Repeat this several times daily. For vaginal yeast infection, put a few drops of the organic oil on a tampon and insert it in the vagina and leave it for about 2-3 hours. Repeat this procedure two times daily until you are relieved from the symptoms.
Garlic
Garlic for years now has been used to treat a number of ailments including yeast infections. Garlic contains natural antibiotic, anti-fungal and antibacterial properties that can help in fighting yeast infection. Make garlic paste by crushing garlic cloves and directly apply the paste on the affected area. Garlic supplements are also available to those who are unable to find natural garlic cloves. Also including fresh garlic in your food recipe on a daily basis is very important.
Vinegar
This is yet among the very important yeast infection home treatment options that can be used to treat this infection. It helps in controlling the infection and also completely eradicating the fungi that is responsible for the infection. You can add vinegar into you bathing water and soak your body in the water for about an hour or you can simply dilute the vinegar with water and apply it on the affected area.
